In the comics, America is a key member of the Young Avengers with incredible abilities like superhuman strength and flying. She can also create star-shaped portals, which, based on some art that has been revealed, likely factor into Doctor Strange 2. Major details of her role, such as how she comes to meet Doctor Strange, remain tightly under wraps for the time being.

Doctor Strange 2 recently wrapped on its reshoots, and Gomez decided to celebrate by posting a fun TikTok. With the backdrop of a green screen behind her, Gomez goes through all the steps of a popular TikTok dance. "all done!" her caption reads, and while she doesn't specifically mention Doctor Strange 2, it has been confirmed that the film completed reshoots recently.

Multiverse of Madness began filming at the tail end of 2020 and carried on production for months afterwards. Near the end of 2021, it began extensive reshoots that cause a bit of a stir online. Cumberbatch said it had to do with the ambitiousness of the story, which is rumored to include some major cameos and additional characters from the Disney+ series Loki. Marvel hasn't commented on any of these rumors and has only recently begun promoting the film; the first teaser trailer for Doctor Strange 2 arrived online after it was the second post-credits scene for No Way Home.
